Foreshadowing in the Book Night
In the book Night, there are many sequences of foreshadowing. Here is the list irchapter 1:
- Moishe the Beadle escaped from the forest and death, but when he came back to Sighet, no one believed him.
- While in the ghettos, no one was praying for the night to end quickly.
- The Germans penetrated the Hungarian territory.
- The Jews of Budapest has anti-Semitic acts committed against them.
- Germans infiltrated their homes, but the soldiers were nice to them.
- The Jews slowly had their rights taken away, and ultimately, the Jews were displaced into the ghettos.
- The Hungarian friend tried to warn Elie's family that danger was imminent.
- Elie's dad refused to leave and start a new life.
- Elie refused to go with family friend into hiding and escape.
- Separating gender in the ghetto.

1. Harrison Bergeron is George and Hazel's son.
2. Harrison takes off his handicaps, earphones, and spectacles. He also makes himself Emperor and calls for an Empress. Harrison takes off the ballerinas handicaps and has the musicians play real music for them to dance to.

2. Every Christmas, my moms side of the family goes up to my uncle's house to celebrate. Every Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day our family gets together with my with both of my sides of the family.
Plot/reaction: The town is small and quaint with a town square, post office, and bank. The families always gather at the town square at 10 o'clock on June 27th for the "lottery". Mrs. Hutchinson has the paper with the black spot on it and got hit with stones.
Questions: 1. What is the "lottery"?
2. Why is Mrs. Hutchinson getting hit with stones?

Quotation Sandwich
Claim: John was curious about the god lives. He was also yearning for more knowledge about them. He wanted to know how they lived before his present society. He can not wait for the time of manhood when he will be able to go to his father and ask to leave for his journey.
Quote: " Nevertheless, my knowledge and my lack of knowledge burned within me- I wished ot know more. When I was a man at last, I came ot my father and said, It is time for me to go on my journey. Give me your leave.
Commentary: John was interested in how the gods lived their lives. He wanted to learn things about them that he could not learn in books. He realized that his people were very different from the gods in the past. At the time that John became a man, he asked his father to give him permission to leave for a journey to the Place of the gods. The purpose of this journey was to bring back new information to his people about the gods and how they lived.

Literary Term 2:Climax
Definition- It is the turning point of a story, the point of the highest tension or drama. It is the step after the Rising action and before the Falling Action.
Example: An example of a climax in a story is the death of Caesar in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar play.
Literary Terms :)
Rising Action
The rising action in a story are the parts that lead all the way up to the climax. It's purpose is to build suspense in the story, all the way up to it's climactic finish! However, it is not to be confused with the middle of the story, but is the action right before the climax begins.
Example: An example of the rising action in the story is found in the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Harry must go through a set of tasks to reach where the Philosopher's Stone is hidden, where he will have the final battle. These are the actions leading up to the climax where Harry must face Voldemort who is trying to get the stone.

Strengths and Weaknesses for English Class
One of my many strengths in English class is that I am a good writer. I rarely have problems with expressing my thoughts and feelings onto paper. I love to write about anything that interests me! Another strength in English class is that I am very good at reading comprehension. I can read a book and then describe everything that happened in it.
One of my weaknesses is that I am sometimes unorganized. I know that I have to work on this by organizing my homework and all the papers that I have for English. However, this is just one weakness compared to many strengths that I possess! :)
