1. The results, of four long Saturday afternoons, of him standing at the supermarket counting the people who passed certain displays.
2. Tom climbs out of the window and stands on the little ledge a yard below the window and he shuffles towards the paper to retrieve it.

1. Why wouldn't Tom go to the neighbors to get back in?
2. Why was the window open in the first place?
